#1 Question I get on Social Media...
Hey there!👋🏼
I'm Emery, and I share my travel and adventures working on yachts.
Whether you follow me on Tik Tok, Youtube, or Instagram you know I am that Yachtie girl and I love my job!!! The number one question I get across all channels is "How do I get started?"
This is really two separate questions...
The first being... "Is this something you genuinely
WANT to pursue?"
Reality shows make the yachting industry look incredibly fun and glamorous.
LOL...let's face it, so do I 😃
.
Like any profession, working as a crew member has its ups and downs. Yes, the travel and adventure is amazing, but it comes hand in hand with long hours and hard work.
Before you start investing your time and money into this exciting endeavor, it's important you have an accurate expectation of what this job and lifestyle really is. That's why I created my free mini-course Life on Deck-What to Expect. My goal is to provide the insights you need to determine if yachting is a good fit for you.
We will discuss:
The type of boats you will find:
Motoryachts, Sailboats, Catamarans...
What the lifestyle is like...this is more then a job. You are living, working, traveling with the boat, the crew, the guests...what can you and should your expect.
What to look for in a yacht program. Like any industry, there are good and bad programs. Start with what you want to do and build from there. With that said...you most likely will start at the bottom...like we all did. Doesnt mean you have to feel uncomfortable or unsafe
Afterwards, if you decide this is something you wish to pursue... then we are on to the second half of the question "How do I get into yachting?" I have a full course below that will walk you through step by step on how to get started as a new crew member in the yachting industry.
This course is a tutorial on how to fast track your way to your first job as a "Greenie" in the yachting industry.
